All That’s There

I was desperate to complete the jigsaw, 

But tired of finding the missing pieces. 

Desperately tried to fit in the wrong ones. 

Never completed but ruined it more.

Can’t leave it incomplete.

Can’t put in the wrong pieces. 

So I’m shifting my gaze, and rejoicing at the part already put together. 

And hanging on a bit more.

She was Medusa

An innocent and beautiful soul; she was like a butterfly,

Mesmerisingly gorgeous, her manners were timid and shy.

With alluring hazel eyes and smooth brown hair,

An angel like her never existed anywhere.

But like the sunshine of winters, her sweetness failed to last long,

Being staggeringly suppressed by others, she had to stand strong.

She was faithful to them but they turned her down,

The serene, sweet smiles on her face; were now replaced by a frown.

Coaxed to put on another face,

She lost all her womanly grace:

Not bothered by her outwardly appearance,

She revengefully defied every conventional adherence.

She gave up on everything elating and delightful,

Her indifferent stony gaze was unusually frightful.

Sleek tresses remade into a bunch of bushy-wavy hair like a nest of snakes,

This cold woman was not bent on forgiving their mistakes.

Delicate and fragile she was like the twigs,

Her crushed strength had acquired the daredevil wings.

The former admirers now willingly wanting to behead her,

For a woman rebelled with valour against the injustice done to her.

This monstrous Medusa not being born out of a curse

Was a product of society’s torments that were unbelievably worse.
