It was their first wedding anniversary. He had readied all the plans for the evening and appeared fascinatingly handsome in a black tuxedo. She had been looking in the mirror for over twenty minutes attempting for a good hair-do and finally, succeeded in her endeavour. Heavens! He could not take his eyes off the pretty lady. She looked ravishing in her new A-line violet dress and perfectly half-tied hair.
She hurriedly went for her almirah and returned with her jewellery box. She caught another glimpse of herself in the mirror. With a pinch of apprehension and consciousness on her face she turned to him, opened the box and questioned, “Which one of these earrings should I go for?”.
He had been admiring her incessantly all this while and looked at her yet for another minute. Slowly, he moved towards her with a mysterious half-smile, resting his rugged manly palms on her shoulder and in another moment twisted her abruptly to where the mirror stood. This surprised her greatly and she gazed at him in bafflement.
He gestured to the mirror and elongated the either side of her lips with his thumb and index finger in an intent to shape a smile. His effort had made it clear to her and the involuntary grin finally showed up. He looked at the her lovingly and whispered in an alluring tone, “No matter even if you don’t put your lipstick or have on the diamond studs, don’t forget to wear this precious accessory.”
